Update on Izzy.........

 

7/19/14

Today we had a Golf Tournament at The Haven Golf Course in Green Valley. It was a huge success! We had 72 golfers (18 teams of 4). It was absolutely amazing! We had some awesome prizes. Angie and George Martinez put the WHOLE thing together!!!!! It was a full time job for them! They are very generous people!! Cecilia and Jose Perez did a lot of the work too! They worked their magic and got a lot of donations!!! My mom, Brianna, Alyssa, and I also help with the planning and stuffing the golf bags. During the event, we had a lot of volunteers: My mom, Monique, Ally, Sage, Brianna, Jerry, Alyssa, Ari, Angie, Marina, Diane, Susie, Cecilia, and George's brother (Richard).  George's niece Veronica volunteered by giving massages and donating that money. The following companies donated certificates &/or items for our raffles.

Cecilia and I took pictures at the 7th hold of all the teams. I'll be posting them soon. We made $3850!!!  Zef and I are  so thankful for all the support from our family, friends, and new friends. The feeling we have is unexplainable. Izzy is doing so much better.  It's been about a month a half since we've taken Izzy to The Family Hope Center, and a year since the first time Zef and I went there.  During this past year, we have weaned Izzy off of 9 or more medications. We have a few more to go! Since Izzy was born, we have been taking her to doctors and doing exactly what they tell us to do.  The FHC has taught us how to be in the driver's seat of Izzy's life. All the medicines that Izzy has been on all of her life have damaged her kidneys and bones. Now that we have changed her diet and got her off these harsh mediness, she is happier and stronger now. She doesn't seem so confused, lathargic, and irritable anymore. Prior to a year ago, Izzy cried for 80% of the day. Now, she is happy for 95% of the day!   For the first time ever, she WANTS to talk, sit, walk, stand, eat orally, and do what other 6 year old children are doing. She understands what is happening around her. Her brain is not cloudy anymore. FHC has given us HOPE! This is just the beginning! We need to continue going to the FHC for support and guidance.
